Slow Travel, One Sunset at a Time

We're Dustin & Marie, two full-time travelers chasing golden hours and hidden experiences across the globe.

Hi friend,
Come see where we are today.

The first thing our friends and family ask isn't "how are you doing?" It's "where are you two today?"

Right now: Bali, Indonesia. Follow the whole journey »

For over three years, we've traveled the world together. We have been going full-time with no fixed address or long-term plan, just a shared decision to live a life most people only daydream about. We wake most mornings grateful we stepped outside the lines everyone else drew for us.

We work remote jobs, finding a routine wherever we land, all while chasing the wild, still-undiscovered corners of the world. That's exactly how we like it.

We started this travel blog and our YouTube channel to bring the people we love along for the ride. You can follow the adventures, the antics, the sunsets, and the occasional disaster. Somewhere along the way, it grew into something bigger. Now we make it for anyone who's ever looked at a life like ours and thought maybe I could do that too.

Because you can, if you want, we'll show you how.

Slow Travel?

What Slow Travel Actually Means

Most travel is a checklist. You finally get some paid time off, pick a spot, book all the things, hit five cities in seven days, grab a photo and a souvenir at every landmark, and land back home before you've even unpacked. You need a vacation from your vacation.

Slow travel is the opposite. We try to max out our visa in every country, settling into each new city for at least a few weeks or longer.

It's staying somewhere long enough to have a favorite coffee spot, fall into a morning routine, learn the names of the folks at the market, and maybe even take a bite out of the language. It's finding the speakeasy the locals don't tell tourists about.

We'd rather know one place deeply than see ten from a bus window. Fewer destinations, more time, and the kind of moments you can't schedule. That's the whole idea behind everything we make here.

Blog: How We Travel Slow

Our Favorite Places

We get asked this all the time. So where are some of our favorite places?

Japan

Incredible cities and ancient shrines, onsen towns and back-alley bars that seat six. Legendary 7-Eleven runs, impossibly quiet trains, and a whole culture built on the art of being polite. Japan rewards you for slowing down.

Vietnam

Michelin-starred meals for the price of a sandwich back home, egg coffee you'll dream about, and custom tailors who'll turn a suit around overnight. Vietnam runs on motorbikes and hospitality — and it's affordable enough for anyone to linger a while.

Thailand

Night markets that run till dawn, islands on their own clock, and lantern festivals that set the sky glowing. Add world-class street food so good it's ruined restaurants for us, and Thailand becomes very easy to arrive in and very hard to leave.

Bali (Indonesia)

Laptop-friendly cafés and emerald rice terraces, beach clubs that pump into the night, and the best sunsets we've found anywhere. Throw in some of the happiest people on the planet and it's a tough place to top.

Spain

Dinners that start at 10pm, tiny tapas bars where you eat standing up, and cities built for wandering with no particular plan. Spain never rushes — and after a week here, neither will you.

Portugal

Hillsides of historic tiled façades, jamón sandwiches and warm pastéis de nata, and the cheerful daily game of dodging trams in narrow lanes. Old-world charm at a pace that suits us perfectly.

Greece

Island-hopping ferries and the freshest food imaginable, ancient history around every corner, and beaches that have looked timeless for a few thousand years. Built for slow, sun-soaked days with nowhere to be.

New to Japanese Onsens? Don't Get Naked Blind.

The onsen is one of Japan's great pleasures. It's also one of the easiest places to accidentally offend every other naked stranger in a room. We wrote this onsen guide because we wish we'd had it. It includes: what to do, what never to do, and how to relax like you belong there — in the not-so-secret onsen club.
